DESCRIPTION:The Festival includes a wide variety of guided walks for all ages and abilities – and it’s free! The walks on offer range from short walks and strolls\, to day-long hikes for fitter walkers. There may also be a boat trip suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. In addition there will be walks with added special interests including family fun\, history\, canal and trees. \nStonehouse town is an ideal base for exploring this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pathways including the Cotswold Way lead in all directions across fields\, through woodlands\, along canal\, river and rail trails\, and onto rolling countryside\, hills and valleys. Panoramic views can be enjoyed all around\, including across to the Severn valley and beyond. \nJoin us for the walking festival. DESCRIPTION:For the grand finale of our ‘Sun Days at the Ship’ series….\nDrum roll\, please… \nThe Stonehouse Regatta is back! \nA beloved annual tradition from Victorian times\, and started by landlord of the Shipp Inn Robert Larkin (check out the Stroudwater History website for more information)\, the Stonehouse Regatta is making a return — and you’re invited to take part! \nPlease note: No parking at the event but easy to get to by bike or on foot along the canal towpath. \nOn the Water:\nLed by the fantastic team at Stroud Canoe Club\, the regatta will feature canoe races\, water polo and other surprises with qualified coaches on hand.\nYou’ll be on the water for about an hour\, competing against other teams.\nCanoes fit 2 adults or 4 small children (or 2 adults + 2 young kids)\nMinimum age: 7 years\nBooking required – Click here to reserve your spot! \nA Nod to the Past:\nThe original regatta featured races\, a funfair\, and even Bovril bombs. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second instalment of our community summer events\, hosted by the brilliant young people from The Door Youth Group in Stonehouse. Expect a relaxed\, family-friendly day with: \n+ A BBQ\, ice-creams and soft drinks (all profits go towards the Ship Inn Community group so a really great cause!!)\n+ A free 7m climbing wall (aged 7 and over)\n+ Games and activities designed and run by The Door Youth Group\n+ Paddle boarding sessions at a massively reduced cost (£5 per person for one hour – booking required) (aged 10 and over) \nThere’s no parking at the venue\, but it’s easily accessible on foot or by bike via the towpath. Artists from Stonehouse and beyond—including illustrators\, studio artists\, and street artists — we can’t wait to see what they create! \nThe event is spread over two locations; our main location is the Ship Inn Community Space where we have local artists Tim Woolner\, Marcus Walters\, Charlotte Aitken\, Nadine James\, Noelle Bewry James. Then we also have the site at Stonehouse Town Car Park where we have Sepr\, 45rpm\, Lila Butcher\, Liv Clark and Stroud Painters Co-operative. \nThe weather’s looking hot\, so ditch the sticky house and come cool off under the trees by the canal. You could finish your walk with some lovely cake! You will have walked off some calories beforehand… surely! Book the walk here  \nParking available in the main High Street car park\, although we encourage you to take public transport where viable. Public toilets are also within the car park. The Old Chapel Garden is wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible. \nWe look forward to seeing you there!

DESCRIPTION:Book here \nThis event is part of the Wake Up Wind Down series – morning and twilight events on the Stroud canal that promote wellbeing and connection with nature for those who identify as female. \nJoin us for a circular morning walk from Stonehouse to Eastington and back following the canal and river. The route will include two historic churches – St Cyr’s\, Stonehouse and St Michael and All Angels\, Eastington\, set in beautiful locations alongside the water. The walk will be lead by Ruth Powell\, Stroud Valley’s Project. \nWe will finish back at Stonehouse Court Hotel where refreshments will be provided. \nStart/Finish: Meet outside the entrance to Stonehouse Court Hotel \nLength: 3 miles\, expected to take around an 1 hr 15 mins. \nAccessibility: This is a relatively flat walk with some narrow and uneven stretches of footpath.
